Alberta

The Alberta program requires a candidate to have either studied in the province or have received a job offer from an employer. Rules can however change from time to time.

Alberta is a western province of Canada. With an estimated population of 4 million, it is Canada’s fourth-most populous province. Alberta is bounded by the provinces of British Columbia to the west and Saskatchewan to the east.

Alberta’s capital, Edmonton, is near the geographic centre of the province. About 290 km south of the capital is Calgary, the largest city in Alberta. Calgary and Edmonton centre Alberta’s two metropolitan areas, both of which have populations exceeding one million.

British Columbia

The British Columbia program requires a candidate to have either studied in the province or have received a job offer from an employer. Rules can however change from time to time.

British Columbia is the westernmost province of Canada. With an estimated population of 4.8 million, it is Canada’s third-most populous province. The largest city is Vancouver, the third-largest metropolitan area in Canada and the largest in Western Canada. The climate of Vancouver is by far the mildest winter climate of the major Canadian cities. BC’s economy is diverse, with service producing industries accounting for the largest portion of the province’s GDP. The largest section of employment is in finance, insurance, real estate and corporate management.

Newfoundland & Labrador

The Newfoundland & Labrador program requires a candidate to have either studied in the province or have received a job offer from an employer. Rules can however change from time to time.

Newfoundland and Labrador is the most easterly province of Canada. Situated in the country’s Atlantic region, it comprises the island of Newfoundland and mainland Labrador. The province’s population was estimated at 526,702. About 92% of the province’s population lives on the island of Newfoundland. Newfoundland and Labrador’s capital and largest city, St. John’s, is Canada’s 20th-largest metropolitan area and is home to almost 40 percent of the province’s population.
